PM Modi Welcomes Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi warmly welcomed Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday, marking the start of Chinh's three-day state visit to India. The formal ceremony included a warm embrace between the leaders and a ceremonial Guard of Honour for Chinh.
The reception continued at Hyderabad House, where both leaders participated in a virtual inauguration of the Army Software Park at the Tele-Communications University in Nha Trang, Vietnam. This visit, beginning on July 30 and concluding today, underscores the strengthening ties between India and Vietnam.
Key Indian officials, including External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel, and Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal, were present at the ceremonial welcome.
Following the ceremony, Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Chinh engaged in discussions with their respective delegations on matters of mutual interest. Chinh, accompanied by a high-profile delegation of ministers, deputy ministers, and business leaders, also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat.
The Vietnamese Prime Minister's agenda included bilateral talks with Modi and a luncheon hosted by the Indian Prime Minister. Chinh also met with President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. On Wednesday, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar met with Chinh, expressing appreciation for his guidance on enhancing India-Vietnam bilateral relations.
Chinh's visit aims to expand the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, with extensive talks scheduled between the two Prime Ministers. The visit highlights the deepening cooperation and mutual interests that India and Vietnam share on various fronts.
